Grech, a private pilot himself, found solace and excitement in unraveling the mysteries of the skies from a different perspective: "During the COVID lockdown in the spring/summer of 2020, the hobby overtook me. Being a private pilot myself, flying was out of the question at that time, just like any other activity - almost! t was odd because, living on an island, and particularly because I live relatively close to the island's only airport, one gets used to the sound of aircraft engines roaring on takeoff and trust-reversing. Herefore, it was only natural for me to be curious and investigate the type of traffic that was still present around me, and that is how it all began," he says.

Living near Malta's only airport, accustomed to the symphony of aircraft engines, Aldo's curiosity was piqued as the kids fell quiet.

Guidance for Aspiring Feeders

Drawing from his evolution as an ADS-B enthusiast, Aldo offers invaluable advice for those venturing into flight tracking. He emphasizes the importance of starting small and gradually expanding your setup. Aldo's setup commenced with a modest system—an old PC and a small antenna placed outside a window for initial testing. Over time, he fine-tuned his configuration, learning from experiences like discovering that a filter was li citing his range. Engaging with the RadarBox technical team & community, he optimized his setup.

RadarBox: A Reliable Partner

"RadarBox is the only one that offers a reliable solution running on a standard Windows platform, along with proprietary hardware (Antennas, etc., making it ideal for a beginner) and a reliable technical team to rely on when support is required," says Aldo.

The Power of a RadarBox Station

A RadarBox station is akin to unlocking a treasure trove of national insights. Aldo underscores the significance of this dedicated setup, allowing access to comprehensive flight data beyond what standard apps offer. The rich details and extensive information enhance the tracking experience, offering a deeper understanding of the aviation world. And let's not forget the added benefit of complimentary Business Level access, further enriching the experience.

What are the benefits of being a RadarBox Feeder?

"One can easily obtain information on flight traffic by downloading any commercially available app. However, having a server gives you access to much more information and details than what is typically displayed on the app or web version. Not to mention the complimentary Business Level access for free!" - Aldo Grech.
